The Queens is another word for the females of the cat world. My cats are of various ages from kittens to older maturer ladies.
The queens live in their own cattery, which is spacious, clean and lots of room to move, stretch, jump and play. With also a back compartment that is insulated, and heated during winter months. They have bedding and their litter trays are daily cleaned. Because I know how to follow correct hygiene protocols with animals I use professional cleaning agents which kill all manner of things from ring worm, to Salmonella to cat flu.
You may ask why have cats living in a cattery? Queens that are to be bred from call consistently from January through to September in the hope they will be mated. Keeping them in a cattery stops cats escaping into the gardens and being mated by moggies. Also its stops the spread of diseases that can be passed on through mating, making your kitten healthier. I do not disagree with people having domestic short hairs (Moggy or cross bred), but when we have to make sure our cats are pure pedigree we just simply can't let them out.
Our cattery is large because I know full well how animals need to move and stretch and jump to remain fit and healthy. We do not agree with house crates for cats, if they have to live in them 24/7.
